Ce qui nous fait dire qu’une bonne histoire, c’est comme un bon tube. On peut la raconter encore et encore, elle continue de raisonner.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Nous sommes au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 60. Tom Ripley vit \u00e0 New York, o\u00f9 il gagne sa vie comme il peut, en magouillant. Un <\/span>riche homme d’affaires<\/b> l’engage pour raisonner son fils, parti vivre une vie d’artiste en Europe. La mission se complique rapidement pour Tom qui <\/span>encha\u00eene les mensonges.<\/b><\/p>

Certes, l’histoire du Talentueux Monsieur Ripley se d\u00e9roule en grande partie en Italie, mais, on vous pr\u00e9vient, n’attendez pas d’<\/span>images idylliques de la m\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/b> La minis\u00e9rie pourrait vous faire voyager au soleil, mais non !<\/span><\/p>

C’est dans <\/span>un noir et blanc \u00e9tudi\u00e9<\/b> que nous suivons les aventures de Tom Ripley. Un choix qui, associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une mise en sc\u00e8ne sobre et efficace, se concentre sur <\/span>l’aspect psychologique du r\u00e9cit. <\/b>L\u2019absence de couleur <\/span>marque une distance.<\/b> Un \u00e9cart d’\u00e9poque, mais aussi un certain recul. Avec Ripley, nous sommes dans l’analyse.<\/span><\/p>

\u00c0 la fois<\/span> ludique et tr\u00e8s travaill\u00e9e, l’esth\u00e9tique de la s\u00e9rie Netflix rappelle des cases de BD savamment compos\u00e9es. Les plans sont purs, le d\u00e9coupagepr\u00e9cis. Avec <\/span>une \u00e9conomie de moyens bien pens\u00e9e<\/b>, le r\u00e9alisateur Steven Zaillian (sc\u00e9nariste de <\/span>Le Strat\u00e8ge <\/span><\/i>et <\/span>The Irihsman<\/span><\/i>) arrive \u00e0 <\/span>nous plonger dans une ambiance pesante.<\/b> Une tension permanente\u00a0 parfois plus \u00e9prouvante que des sursauts, ou un r\u00e9alisme cru.<\/span><\/p>

Impossible d’\u00eatre indiff\u00e9rent \u00e0 son aspect visuel. Le traitement particulier accord\u00e9 aux images fonctionne tr\u00e8s bien pour les 8 \u00e9pisodes. <\/span>Le format de la minis\u00e9rie<\/b> permet d’explorer un style qui serait probablement trop contraignant pour une s\u00e9rie \u00e0 rallonge.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Le h\u00e9ros des bestsellers de Patricia Highsmith fascine encore, presque 70 ans apr\u00e8s la sortie du premier volume. Apr\u00e8s <\/span>Matt Damon<\/b> (<\/span>Le Talentueux Mr Ripley<\/span><\/i>) et <\/span>Alain Delon<\/b> (<\/span>Plein Soleil<\/span><\/i>), c’est<\/span> Andrew Scott <\/b>(<\/span>Sherlock, Fleabag<\/span><\/i>) qui s’attaque au personnage.<\/span><\/p>

Il incarne un Tom Ripley c\u00e9r\u00e9bral. \u00c0 l’image de la mise en sc\u00e8ne de la nouvelle s\u00e9rie Netflix,<\/span> son jeu d’acteur est sobre<\/b>. Il arrive \u00e0 inqui\u00e9ter, comme \u00e0 faire rire<\/span> avec peu de mots<\/b>, et c’est tout son talent. On per\u00e7oit chez lui un univers interne complexe sans conna\u00eetre exactement ses intentions.<\/span><\/p>

L’\u00e9trange lueur dans le regard d’Andrew Scott perturbe ses <\/span>allures de monsieur Tout-le-Monde.<\/b> Juste ce qu’il faut pour en faire<\/span> un sociopathe<\/b> \u00e0 l’\u00e9cran. La tension et l’humour grin\u00e7ant qui r\u00e8gnent dans ces 8 \u00e9pisodes doivent beaucoup \u00e0 son interpr\u00e9tation de monsieur Ripley.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Les costumes de Ripley : comment sugg\u00e9rer la richesse et l'imposture<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Comme tout escroc qui se respecte, Tom Ripley est <\/span>particuli\u00e8rement motiv\u00e9 par l’argent<\/b>. La quantit\u00e9 d’escalier qu’on peut voir le h\u00e9ros gravir dans la s\u00e9rie pourrait d\u2019ailleurs illustrer <\/span>son d\u00e9sir d\u2019ascension sociale.<\/b><\/p>

Sauf qu’entre \u00eatre riche et avoir l’air riche, il y a une diff\u00e9rence. Et les costumes sont l\u00e0 pour le rappeler.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Le noir et blanc limite les informations sur le v\u00eatement, c’est s\u00fbr. Mais, l\u00e0 encore, il nous fait <\/span>nous concentrer sur l’essentiel<\/b>, comme la coupe et la silhouette g\u00e9n\u00e9rale. La <\/span>distinction de milieu <\/b>entre Tom Ripley et Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn) est visible \u00e0 travers leurs allures respectives. Et accentu\u00e9e par un beau jeu d’acteur.<\/span><\/p>

Tout droit sorti d’une prestigieuse universit\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine, Greenleaf a un style qu’on pourrait qualifier d’Ivy League (ce qu’on appelle aujourd’hui <\/span>old money<\/span><\/i><\/a>). Ses looks sont compos\u00e9s de <\/span>pi\u00e8ces intemporelles port\u00e9es avec d\u00e9contraction.<\/b><\/p>

M\u00eame en s’opposant \u00e0 son p\u00e8re avec sa <\/span>vie de boh\u00e8me<\/b>, l’argent lui colle \u00e0 la peau. Parce que tout \u00e7a ne tient pas qu’\u00e0 des cheveux bien peign\u00e9s ou une jolie montre en cuir. C’est toute une attitude. Et les acteurs en rendent bien compte.<\/span><\/p>

Tom Ripley affiche, quant \u00e0 lui, <\/span>une certaine raideur.<\/b> M\u00eame bien appr\u00eat\u00e9, il n’a pas l’aisance de son compagnon en blouse de peintre. Ni de Marge Sherwood (Dakota Fanning) dans sa chemise en lin.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Malgr\u00e9 ses efforts, il est <\/span>toujours en d\u00e9calage.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
